When in doubt, submit a report. We'd rather know about a concern early and connect someone with support than miss an opportunity to help. Our goal is to support students, uphold community standards, and connect individuals with the resources they need to succeed.
After a report is submitted:
- The report is reviewed by the appropriate office or response team.
- RPI staff assess available information and determine next steps.
- Outreach may occur to provide support, resources, education, or follow-up.
- When appropriate, reports may be coordinated across multiple offices to ensure a comprehensive response.

Learn More About Our Reports
Submit a Concern Report when you are worried about a student's academic success, emotional well-being, health, safety, behavior, or personal circumstances. Reports may be submitted by students, faculty, staff, families, or community members.
Examples include:
- Significant changes in behavior
- Mental health concerns
- Academic distress
- Personal or family emergencies
- Financial or basic needs challenges
- Concerning conduct that may impact student success
Our CARE Collaborative reviews concerns and connects students with appropriate support, resources, and follow-up.
RPI values the dignity and belonging of every community member. If you experience or witness behavior that may be motivated by bias, prejudice, discrimination, or harassment, we encourage you to report it.
Examples include:
- Bias-related incidents
- Discriminatory conduct
- Harassment based on a protected characteristic
- Hate speech or symbols
- Acts that negatively impact a person's sense of belonging or safety
Reports are reviewed through the Bias Assessment and Response Team (BART) and appropriate university offices.
RPI prohibits sexual misconduct, sexual harassment, dating violence, domestic violence, stalking, sexual exploitation, and retaliation.
You may submit a report if you:
- Have experienced sexual misconduct or harassment
- Witnessed concerning behavior
- Are seeking support or accommodations
- Want to learn more about reporting options
Submitting a report does not automatically require participation in a formal process. Our priority is helping individuals understand their options and access support.
Academic integrity is a cornerstone of the RPI educational experience. Faculty members, staff, and students are encouraged to report concerns related to potential violations of academic integrity standards.
Examples include:
- Cheating
- Plagiarism
- Unauthorized collaboration
- Falsification or fabrication of academic work
- Misuse of academic resources
Reports are reviewed according to RPI's academic integrity procedures and policies.
RPI is committed to preventing hazing in all forms. Hazing can occur within student organizations, athletic teams, clubs, and other groups, regardless of a person's willingness to participate.
Examples include:
- Forced consumption of alcohol, drugs, or food
- Sleep deprivation
- Physical abuse or dangerous activities
- Humiliation or degrading treatment
- Activities that place someone at risk of physical or emotional harm
Reports may be submitted by students, faculty, staff, families, alumni, or community members.
