Our mission

The Office of Fraternity and Sorority Affairs will utilize the values and ideals of the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute Greek community to create an environment conducive to a successful collegiate fraternal experience. The Greek community will strive for excellence in scholarship, service, leadership, involvement, diversity, building community, and brotherhood/sisterhood.

The office is located on the fourth floor of Academy Hall on the south end of 15th Street. Dean Mark Smith oversees all the Greek system operations as a fundamental component to Renssealer's undergraduate education, and would be happy to address the concerns of students and parents with questions about Greek life on campus.

Greek Life is an exciting part of a student's college experience. In an effort to make each student's college experience fun, safe, and productive, the Dean of Students Office attends to issues related to the Greek Community. In addition, the Office of Fraternity and Sorority Affairs works closely in collaboration with the Inter-Fraternity and Panhellenic Councils to assure that each member of the Greek student community works hand-in-hand with each other and the administration.
