Off-Campus Living

"TROY.NY is a hidden jewel in the American landscape." It's "an eclectic, historic urban community that’s rich in opportunities to make a difference." The Troy Business Improvement District hosts this informative website describing much of what Downtown Troy has to offer. The City of Troy website provides information on all the neighborhoods in Troy and its general services.

The information presented in this section was compiled by a team of Rensselaer students, staff and community leaders interested in helping you, as a student, to make more informed decisions about where you choose to live in the future, to be successful living off-campus, and to create a better quality of life for all who live in the neighborhoods surrounding Rensselaer. In particular, we think you'll find that our Guide to Living Off Campus contains lots of valuable information to help you navigate living successfully and comfortably in the community.

The Dean of Students Office offers "Off Campus Living Seminars" in the early spring. To reserve a space in the next program, please contact Community Service. If you still have any questions or comments after you've had a chance to look over the Off Campus Housing Web Site, please feel free to contact the Union.
