Tuition, Transportation, Housing, Meals, Health Care & Recreation
Tuition, fees, and room and board for the two-week session are all paid for by corporate sponsors. The only cost to participants is a health center fee and personal and miscellaneous (snacks, souvenirs, laundry, etc.) expenses.
Transportation - PREFACE subsidizes each participant’s round-trip transportation to and from Rensselaer. Students are provided airline or train tickets to and from Albany, and PREFACE staff transport the students by van to and from the airport and train station.
Housing - Students live in the QUAD, a traditional residence hall on the Rensselaer campus. Students will share a room with another student.
Meals - Hospitality Services at Rensselaer, run by Sodexho Campus Services is the food service provider at Rensselaer. Participants receive three meals per day during the week and two meals per day during the weekend at the Sage Dining Hall.
Health Care - The Rensselaer Health Center will provide regular health care to the students while they are on campus. Emergency health care is provided at a local hospital. Specific information regarding requirements for selected students is found at Health Requirements for Overnight Programs.
Recreation - Participants will have access to all recreational facilities, including the basketball, tennis and volleyball courts, outdoor track, baseball/softball fields, the Mueller Fitness Center, and the facilities of the Rensselaer Union.
