SERVICES AVAILABLE AT RENSSELAER FOR DEAF OR HARD OF HEARING STUDENTS
If you have a hearing loss, you are urged to contact Disability Services as early as possible to facilitate planning. You may be interested in the following services:
- Recruitment of notetakers
- Notification of faculty regarding your requirements in the classroom
- Use of a personal assistive listening system
- Installation of a visual fire alarm in your residence hall
- Installation of adapted telephone equipment or TTY in your residence hall or other locations
- Other services as determined by individual need
- If you use sign language interpreters, Disability Services for Students can also assist in arranging for qualified interpreters through local interpreter referral agencies. Financial assistance to pay for interpreters may be available through your state rehabilitation agency or will be provided by Rensselaer. If you are interested in CART services, please contact Disability Services to learn more about its availability.
